2014 Annual Benefit Auction

The 2014 Annual Benefit Auction will be held on Friday, November 14th, 2014 at the Yellowknife Inn.

Once again, the YK Inn has graciously donated the use of the lower level boardrooms for the evening. Last year we rose over $46,000 and we hope to make it an even bigger year. If you would like to donate an item or service, or become a volunteer, please contact our office.

Disability Awareness Week June 2nd – 8th

Achieving full citizenship, in the NWT, through equality, inclusion, accessibility and participation.

Nominations for Our Annual Disability Awareness Recognition Awards

  1. The Minister Responsible for Persons with Disabilities Award – This award is presented by the Minister Responsible for Persons with Disabilities to an individual in recognition of their contribution to making the Northwest Territories a more accessible and inclusive Territory. It is a Territory wide award.
  2. The NWT Disabilities Council Award – This Award is presented by the NWT Disabilities Council to a person or group that has made a significant on-going contribution, as a volunteer, to improving life for persons living with disabilities in the North. It is a Territory wide award.
  3. The Canadian Council of Persons with Disabilities (C.C.D.) Award – This Award is presented by the Council, on behalf of the C.C.D., to an individual living within the Territory that has made a significant contribution in the field of disabilities either territoriality or nationally. This is a National Award.
  4. NWT Human Rights Commission Accessibility Award– This award is presented to a NWT Public Sector Provider. It recognizes new and existing physical and/or non-physical accommodations that a business makes or has made to create more accessibility to services for the public. The award may be given to any business or organization providing services to the public. www.nwthumanrights.ca
